I have been on a crochet poncho KICK! I have a feeling this is going to be a poncho summer hehe.

This pattern was super easy to follow and would be perfect for beginners! I absolutely love how this turned out.
Some modifications I made to the pattern were using worsted weight yarn and not adding in the tassels on the ends of the poncho. Other than that I just followed the pattern!
Below is a written version of the pattern that I used to create my poncho. Enjoy!
Materials:
Abbreviations:
ch = chain
st = stitch
sp = space
sl st = slip stitch
dc = double crochet
Pattern:
Round 1: ch 80, sl st into the first ch.
Round 2: hdc 80 in each ch in the round, sl st into the first hdc. (80)
Round 3: ch 1, dc into the same st, ch 3, dc into the same st. This will be your first corner of 4 total. Repeat *ch 3, sk 3 sts, dc into the 4th st* 5 times. ch 3, dc into the same st, this is your second corner. Repeat *ch 3, sk 3 sts, dc into the 4th st* 5 times. ch 3, dc into the same st, this is your third corner. For the final corner, repeat *ch 3, sk 3 sts, dc into the 4th st* 5 times. ch 3, dc into the same st. To finish off this round repeat the *ch 3, sk 3 sts, dc into the 4th st* five more times. Sl st into the first corner sp.
Round 4: ch 1, dc in the same sp, ch 3, dc in the same sp. Repeat *ch 3, dc in the next space* until you get to the next corner sp. In each corner sp dc into the sp, ch 3, dc. Repeat this for all other rounds for as long as you would like your poncho to be!
For reference I had a total of 28 rounds.
